ABSTRACT:
A UV absorber of formula (1a) ##STR1## in which E.sub.1, E.sub.2 and E.sub.3 are independently substituted alkyl or substituted silyl or siloxyl moieties, are useful in protecting photographic materials from the deleterious effects of actinic light.
