A process for pharmaceutically treating a subject with S-(-)-3-morpholino-4-(3-tert-butylamino-2-hydroxypropoxy)-1,2,5-thiadiazol e hemihydrate comprising preparing a composition containing the hemihydrate and topically applying the prepared composition to a surface of the subject.
