ABSTRACT:
A running control apparatus for an automobile prevents an abnormal running state by depressing a brake pedal even when a fault takes place in the component(s) of the control apparatus. When a detected brake pedal depression stroke exceeds a predetermined value, an electric power supply to a throttle actuator is interrupted to thereby allow a throttle valve to assume a fully closed position.
