ABSTRACT:
The marking of a surface of an uncured diene rubber product with a marking, or identifying coating, which disappears upon curing the rubber. In one aspect, the coating is applied as a water based dispersion of a white colored metallic salt of a fatty acid having a melting point below 150.degree. C. (e.g. zinc stearate) in a sulfur curable polymeric latex binder. An article can be produced thereby as a cured assembly of rubber components.
