ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to rubber compositions containing an elastomer having olefinic unsaturation and a carboxymaleimidophenyl ester of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is selected from the group alkyls having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms and aryls having from 6 to 10 carbon atoms; and R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 may be the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen and alkyls having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms.
