A rubber composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a rubber component which consists of a natural rubber alone or a blend of a natural rubber with a dienic synthetic rubber and from 35 to 100 parts by weight of a carbon black compounded into the rubber. The carbon black has a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area (N.sub.2 SA) of 100 to 160 m.sup.2 /g and also a true specific gravity and a mode diameter of intraaggregate pore (Dp) which satisfy, respectively, the relations
