ABSTRACT:
A sliding panel assembly is provided. A roller mechanism allows the sliding panel to slide between an open position and a closed position. The roller mechanism has a carriage assembly connected to an elongated support member. The sliding panel is fixed to the elongated support member. The carriage assembly is connected to the elongated support member by a plurality of link mechanisms. The carriage assembly carries a plurality of wheels which ride in a track. The link mechanisms allow the sliding panel to be locked in a weatherproof seal against a framed opening in which the sliding panel is placed. The link mechanisms also allow the sliding panel to be removed from the weatherproof seal to facilitate movement of the sliding panel along the track.
