ABSTRACT:
The invention is a roll package and the method of making the package. A body to be enclosed has a longitudinal axis. A first layer of material is axially wrapped on the body with the first layer extending generally parallel to the longitudinal axis. A second and a third layer are than radially wrapped over the first layer in a direction generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The second layer is a protective cushion layer which extends adjacent the ends of the body and extends inwardly to protect the edges of the body being enclosed.
