ABSTRACT:
A forming roll for a substrate used for an optical recording medium comprises a roll for continuously forming substrates used for optical recording mediums having preformatting information. Said roll comprises a roll substrate having on its surface a stamper on which a pattern corresponding with the preformatting information has been formed, and, assuming the radius of said roll substrate as "r" mm, the length of said pattern in the peripheral direction of said roll substrate as "t" mm, they satisfy the relationship of:
