ABSTRACT:
A receiver and bolt for a rifle wherein both the receiver and the bolt contain mating lugs of equal spacing around the receiver and bolt. The width of the lugs on the receiver at their attachment to the receiver and the spacing between the lugs are equal. Additional locking lugs can be attached behind the first-mentioned lugs to provide additional restraining force capability. The lugs should be mounted on an angle of 90.degree. to 72.degree. as calculated from a plane normal to the axis of the bolt or receiver.
