ABSTRACT:
An RF coil positioning device for MRI in which a pallet of a bed unit of an MRI device is moved so that an RF coil unit mounted on the pallet is positioned at the center of a magnetostatic field of the magnetostatic field generator, includes: a coil detector provided at a predetermined position along a path of the pallet, for detecting the passage of the RF coil unit through a reference position; an encoder for detecting the distance of travel of the pallet; and control circuit for controlling the drive of the motor so that the pallet is moved until the distance of travel of the pallet after the generation of a detection signal from the coil detector and the distance from the reference position to the center of the magnetostatic field become equal to each other.
