ABSTRACT:
A retrofocus type wide angle lens is characterized by a first lens group consisting of a meniscus-shaped negative lens whose convex surface is directed toward an object, a second lens group consisting of a biconvex and a negative lens cemented thereto, a third lens group consisting of a biconcave lens, a fourth lens group consisting of a meniscus-shaped positive lens whose convex surface is directed to an image and fifth lens group consisting of a biconvex lens all of which are arranged in the order named from an object side and is further characterized in that the following relations are satisfied ##EQU1## where f=the focal length of the whole system;
