ABSTRACT:
A novel restriction endonuclease designated XcyI recognizes and cleaves the sequence 5'-C.dwnarw.CCGGG-3', where the arrow indicates the cleavage site. The enzyme may be obtained from Xanthamonas cyanopsidis.
Xanthamonas cyanopsidis strain 13D5 was deposited at the American Type Culture Collection on Jan. 20, 1984, and granted accession No. 39587.
