ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to a blend of a linear or branched chain saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon wax having a molecular weight of between about 300 to about 5,000 and an alkoxylated alcohol of the formula A--B, wherein A is the unit: CH.sub.3 (CHR--CHR.sub.1).sub.x -- and B is the unit: --CH.sub.2 O(CH.sub.2 CHR.sub.2 O).sub.y H. R and R.sup.1 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and a C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl group; R.sub.2 is hydrogen or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl group; x is between about 1 to about 142; and y is between about 2 to about 817, provided the weight ratio of B/A+B is between 51 and 90 percent. Such blends may be used with an elastomer and tackifier to form a repulpable laminating adhesive. The invention further relates to a laminating adhesive containing alkoxylated alcohol, elastomer, wax and tackifier.
