ABSTRACT:
A process for the removal of NO.sub.x impurities from a gas stream which comprises treating the gas stream containing NO.sub.x impurities under cryogenic conditions with oxygen and an unsaturated hydrocarbon, removing solid N.sub.2 O.sub.3 and recovering a gas stream reduced in NO.sub.x.
