ABSTRACT:
Phosphine impurities are effectively removed from higher olefin products containing such impurities by treatment of the olefin with a macroreticular cation exchange resin in the acid form. The invention is particularly useful in removing phosphine catalyst residues from the C.sub.6 and higher mono-olefin products of ethylene oligomerization reactions.
