The present invention relates to the purification of polypeptides and the removal of endotoxin via immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC). More specifically, the invention relates to methods for removing bacterial endotoxin in a protein solution. In specific embodiments, the invention relates to the elimination of endotoxin fromMoraxella catarrhalisouter membrane proteins.
