ABSTRACT:
A method is disclosed for the purification of methane and/or ethane which comprises oxidizing acetylene and/or carbon monoxide in the gas with oxygen at 200.degree. C. to 375.degree. C. in the presence of a catalyst which contains silver as the active component.
