ABSTRACT:
An automotive remote start assembly10for use in an automobile14is provided. The automotive remote start assembly10includes a portable remote device12having a remote transmitter element18and a remote receiver element20in communication with a remote controller element16. The remote controller element16is configured to transmit an operator initiated ignition signal24, receive a main system confirmation signal34, and transmit a remote system confirmation signal42upon receipt of the main system confirmation signal34. The automotive remote start assembly10further includes an in-vehicle remote start module26having an internal transmitter element30and an internal receiver element32in communication with an internal controller element28. The internal controller element28is configured to receive the operator initiated ignition signal24, transmit the main system confirmation signal34upon receipt of the operator initiated ignition signal24, and receive the remote system confirmation signal42. An engine assembly15is in communication with the in-vehicle remote start module26such that the in-vehicle remote start module26can activate the engine assembly15upon receipt of the remote system confirmation signal42.
