ABSTRACT:
The present invention provides an optical module capable of being readily dismounted from a host board while solving the problem discussed in the specification. An optical module10according to the present invention is an optical module10to be inset into a host board40, which comprises a projection15formed in a housing14and adapted to engage with a hook41provided in the host board40, and a lever20pivotably mounted on the housing14in order to disengage the hook41engaging with the projection15to release the engagement, wherein the lever20has a first portion21A adapted to move with exertion of a force in a direction toward the housing14, and a second portion21B being adjacent to the projection15and adapted to move according to the movement of the first portion21A. In this arrangement, as the first portion21A moves with exertion of the force on the first portion21A, the second portion21B moves in an upheaving direction of the projection15to release the engagement between the hook41and the projection15.
