ABSTRACT:
A regenerative braking system for a car in which braking torque corresponding to the position of a brake pedal is determined and the pumping capacity of a pump/motor is also determined from the braking torque and the pressure of a hydraulic oil circuit. While the engine of the car is decoupled, an electromagnetic clutch is coupled to a PTO unit and the pump/motor, and the hydraulic oil circuit is closed, with the pump/motor being controlled to have the determined pumping capacity in the braking mode of the car.
