ABSTRACT:
Sealing rings for ladle preheaters. The rings may be either fixedly or removably mounted with the ladle preheater frame. The rings seal about the ladle rim adjacent burner and flue openings of the preheater. Refractory fiber insulation is provided for insulating the space between the rim of the ladle and the preheater to prevent hot gas escaping. The refractory fiber is arranged into trapezoidal units which are easily installed and replaced.
