ABSTRACT:
A formulation for the reduction of amine and ammonia odors of organic waste material comprising spent sulfite liquor containing substantially undegraded lignosulfonates and sugars, to which is added from 1 to 15%, by weight of the total solids content, of acetic acid and from 0.5 to 10 grams, per liter of formulation, of phenolic carbonyl compounds, the formulation having a pH of from 6.5 to 8.0 and preferably having being stripped of dissolved SO.sub.2.
