ABSTRACT:
A process for recovering succinimide lubricating oil additives from filter cakes formed during filtration of the additives employing a siliceous filter aid. The filter cakes are mixed with an aqueous solution of a base acting material having a pH above about 10, the mixture is held at a temperature above about 150.degree. F. and settled to separate an upper succinimide containing phase which is recovered.
