ABSTRACT:
A recording material comprising at least one thermodecoloring type dye represented by formula (I) or formula (II) ##STR1## wherein Ar.sup.1 and AR.sup.2 each represents an aryl group or heteroaryl group; R.sup.1 represents an alkyl group, alkenyl group, aralkyl group, aryl group, or heteroaryl group; A represents an atomic group forming a 5 to 6 member ring; and X.crclbar. represents a residue with an electric charge value of -1; or Ar.sup.1 and Ar.sup.2 bond together to form a ring.
