ABSTRACT:
A recording material comprising: one or more supports, an electron donating leuco dye and one or more electron accepting compound(s) is disclosed, in which said electron accepting compound(s) is/are represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group; Ar represents a substituted or unsubstituted polycyclic aryl group; and X.sub.1 and X.sub.2, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkenyl group or a halogen atom. The material exhibits improved preservability before and after recording and solvent resistance.
