ABSTRACT:
A recording liquid is characterized by containing as a dye a compound represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkyl, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 each represent hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkyl, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkoxy, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 represent hydrogen or sulfo in salt form with base, and Q.sub.1 represents naphthyl substituted by hydroxyl and by sulfo in salt form with base.
