ABSTRACT:
A recording element having at least one layer comprising a crosslinked polymer having polymeric backbone moieties and crosslinking moieties, the polymeric backbone moieties containing tertiary nitrogen atoms, the crosslinking moieties connecting polymeric backbone moieties at the teritary nitrogen atoms by conversion of the tertiary nitrogen atoms to quaternary amine, the crosslinking moiety having the structure ##STR1## where R' is independently alkyl or aryl and m is an integer of from 1 to 10.
