ABSTRACT:
A receiver contains a demodulator system that can deliver a stream of digital data comprising at least a first and a second audio program. If a user selects the first audio program, the receiver applies a first bit rate decompression to generate a stream of decompressed digital data. If the user selects the second audio program, the receiver applies a second bit rate decompression to generate a different stream of decompressed digital data. A digital to analog converter can be used to generate the corresponding analog signals.
