ABSTRACT:
The proposed real time clock control of a computer system is implemented as programmer's working register in the central processing unit, instead of as an auxiliary subsystem in the input-output logic. Implemented in this manner, the real time clock is modifiable with memory reference instructions, to facilitate changes in the real time clock overflow interrupt interval and the storage of the real time clock value in a read-write memory.
