ABSTRACT:
A significantly simplified, rugged attachment is provided for a standard thread rolling machine for quick and easy re-rolling of threaded parts for producing high quality threads. A pressure foot is mounted between an open end of a feed chute and the starting end of a fixed die and is biased toward a confronting movable die for urging a threaded part into mesh with the die surface of the movable die when it is moving toward a rear limit position. Such mesh between the threaded part and movable die is effected before the threaded part is pushed by a starter blade into matched rolling position against a starting end of the fixed die and thereafter the moving die reverses its direction of movement to stroke into a forward limit position to effect precision re-rolling of the previously threaded part to produce a high quality finished part.
