A device for taking up clearance designed to equip a diaphragm friction clutch, having circumferentially distributed ramps designed to cooperate with the thrust plate of the clutch, support areas designed to receive the axial force of the diaphragm of the clutch and a toothing designed to drive them in rotation: the device consists of a ring having on one of its faces ramps alternating circumferentially with support areas constituting the support area.
