ABSTRACT:
A radius and angle dresser includes a support member having a first shaft rotatably mounted thereon and a second shaft rotatably mounted at one end of the first shaft. The respective axes of rotation of the shafts are parallel and the second shaft is radially shiftable in two mutually perpendicular directions relative to the first shaft to radially offset the two shafts while keeping them parallel. Locking means are associated with the shafts to enable selective independent rotation of the second shaft or rotation of the second shaft with the first shaft.
The apparatus permits the method of generating of different radius surfaces about, respectively, the axes of rotation of the first and second shafts without intervening re-zeroing and re-setting of the device.
