ABSTRACT:
A radio frequency connector for a patch-coupled aperture array antenna is described including a coaxial connector having an outer shield and an inner conductive member with a dielectric material disposed between the outer shield and a portion of the inner conductive member and a dielectric substrate having a first and a second surface with an opening extending from the first surface of the dielectric substrate to the second surface of the dielectric substrate, the inner conductive member extending through at least a portion of the opening of the dielectric substrate. The radio frequency connector further includes a coupling conductive members having a protruding pin, the protruding pin connected to the inner conductive member and a sheet of dielectric material disposed juxtapositional with the dielectric substrate and covering the coupling conductive member. With such an arrangement, a less expensive radio frequency connector for an antenna is provided which can survive a high temperature environment.
