ABSTRACT:
A radiation focussing device has a reflecting surface which is at least part of a surface of revolution which is generated by a rotation of an arc of a parabola about a rotational axis. This axis is in the plane of the parabola, passes through the parabola focus and is at a non-zero angle, preferably 90.degree. to the principal axis of the parabola. The arc lies on the opposite side of the rotational axis from the vertex of the parabola. When combined with a conical mirror this focussing device can focus parallel incoming rays.
