The maximum height h of the folded edges of the carcass plies is at most 85% of the height H of the steel chafer and the cord angle of the organic fiber reinforcing layer is 20.degree.-75.degree. with respect to the tire circumferential direction and 10.degree. or more with the cords in the steel chafer.
