The compound of the formula: ##STR1## in which Y is oxygen or sulfur; A is oxygen, sulfur or --NR.sub.2, where R.sub.2 is hydrogen or alkyl; R is --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.3, --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 CH.sub.3, --CH(CH.sub.3).sub.2, --CH.sub.2 CH(CH.sub.3).sub.2, --CH.sub.2 CF.sub.3, --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 CF.sub.3, --CH(CF.sub.3).sub.2, --CH.sub.2 CH(CF.sub.3).sub.2, --C.sub.3 H.sub.5, --CH.sub.2 C.sub.3 H.sub.5, --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 C.sub.3 H.sub.5, --C.sub.4 H.sub.7, --CH.sub.2 C.sub.4 H.sub.7, --C.sub.5 H.sub.9, --CH.sub.2 C.sub.9, --C.sub.6 H.sub.10, --CH.sub.2 C.sub.6 H.sub.10, --C.sub.4 H.sub.3 S, --CH.sub.2 C.sub.4 H.sub.3 S, --C.sub.6 H.sub.5 or --CH.sub.2 C.sub.6 H.sub.5 ; and n is one of the integers 1 or 2; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof are centrally active muscarinic agents.
