Quino-benzothiazine compounds having the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.2 is one or more constituents; R.sub.1 is a hydrogen or a carboxy-protecting group; and Z is an amine group or an aliphatic heterocyclic group. The compounds have antibacterial activity.
