ABSTRACT:
The reaction of 2-alkylimidazolines with ethylene oxide or propylene oxide gives quaternary 2-alkyl-2-imidazolinium salts corresponding to the following general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a straight-chain or branched-chain substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or alkenyl radical containing from 7 to 21 carbon atoms,
