ABSTRACT:
A pyroelectric detector with an optimized quality factor, having a dielectric material inserted between two parallel electrodes, the material being a monodomain ferroelectric monocrystal. The faces of the monocrystal in contact with the electrodes form an angle differing from 90.degree. with the polar axis of the monocrystal. The detector is useful in infrared imaging and detection.
