Pyridazinone derivatives of the formula I ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is hydrogen, unsubstituted or substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, or unsubstituted or substituted phenyl or is carboxyl, hydroxymethyl or --CH.sub.2 O--COR.sup.3, where R.sup.3 is alkyl, or is --CH.sub.2 O[CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O].sub.p R.sup.4, where R.sup.4 is alkyl or phenyl and p is 1, 2 or 3,
