ABSTRACT:
A process for reducing the content of unsaturated impurities in saturated fluorohalocarbons and fluorohalohydrocarbons by contacting the impure saturated fluorohalocarbon and/or fluorohalohydrocarbon in a substantially dry fluid state with a substantially dry amorphous solid metal oxide composition consisting essentially of cupric oxide, cobaltic oxide, silver oxide, manganese dioxide, or a mixture of any two or more thereof, at an effective temperature up to about 300.degree. C.
