ABSTRACT:
A pump control system for a submersible pump is provided. The system includes a pump controller adapted to activate the pump when water has reached a high threshold level and to deactivate the pump when water has dropped to a low threshold level. The pump controller also incorporates one or more sensing devices that are capable of detecting the presence of a non-conductive fluid in water so that the pump can be deactivated if oil is detected in water. The system further includes an auxiliary control device which is adapted to automatically override the pump controller and de-energizes the pump if the pump remains activated when water drops to a level below the low threshold level.
