ABSTRACT:
A pulverized solid fuel nozzle assembly34includes a fuel feed pipe38and a nozzle tip36pivotally secured relative to the fuel feed pipe38. The fuel feed pipe38includes a generally cylindrical shell99having a round outlet end102and a bulbous protrusion106disposed around a perimeter of the round outlet end102. The nozzle tip36includes an inner shell40having a round inlet end108arranged in concentric relationship with the round outlet end102of the generally cylindrical shell99. The round inlet end108is disposed around the bulbous protrusion106for forming a seal between the inner shell40and the fuel feed pipe38. The nozzle tip36also includes an outer shell39arranged in coaxial relationship with the inner shell40, and an annular air channel42disposed between the inner and outer shells40, 39. The nozzle tip36is pivotable about at least one axis52, 250for directing a stream of pulverized solid fuel from the inner shell40.
