ABSTRACT:
Biologically active proteins are immobilized on polar supports by first applying to the support a monolayer of a water-soluble polymer containing a .beta.-hydroxyalkyleneamine moiety wherein the equivalent weight of the polymer based on the .beta.-hydroxyalkyleneamine moiety is 87 to about 10,000. The protein irreversibly attaches to the polymer-treated support and retains substantially all of its biological activity.
