ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to an improved protective solution for preventing ischemia damage to the heart and kidneys, and other organs during operations and transplantations, characterized by the fact that it contains .alpha.-ketoglutarate and a buffer system based on histidine/histidine hydrochloride and tryptophane, as well as the usual electrolytes for cardioplegic solutions.
The invention also relates to a process for the preparation of such a protective solution.
