ABSTRACT:
On a turbine blade a protective corrosion resistant surface layer consisting of a MCrAlY alloy is generated by melting the surface of the turbine blade with the MCrAlY alloy uniformly distributed over the surface of the turbine blade by a pulsed electron beam to a depth of 5-50 .mu.m whereby a smooth surface is generated.
