ABSTRACT:
A process controller for maintaining constant pressure under varying flow conditions, including a variable ramp generator and a constant threshold generator which are used to phase-control the current to the pump motor. The process controller can operate over a wide range of incoming AC power line frequencies, and has safety features which drive the motor to its mininum speed in the event of a failure at the setpoint control potentiometer and also disconnect power to the controller if the pressure exceeds a dangerous magnitude.
