ABSTRACT:
A projection apparatus, which is provided with a plurality of semiconductor light-emitting elements for emitting light, a spatial modulation element that performs spatial modulation of light emitted from the semiconductor light-emitting element and outputting image signal light, and a projection unit that projects the image signal light output from the spatial modulation element onto a projection plane. In this configuration, the plurality of semiconductor light-emitting elements is arranged on a substrate supporting the semiconductor light-emitting elements, in one or more parallel rows of semiconductor light-emitting elements, each including two or more semiconductor elements arranged in a straight line in a first direction at a first pitch, and the first pitch is smaller than or equal to the fall width at half maximum of an illumination distribution of light emitted from one of the semiconductor light-emitting elements, formed by the spatial modulation element.
