ABSTRACT:
A projectile in which the drag effect on its external surface is minimized uring operational flight. The tapered projectile nose has peripheral port means in the tapered external surface and in fluid communication with a propellant chamber secured within the nose portion. An electrical ignition element ignites the propellant during projectile flight to eject pressurized gas out of the port means into an environmental air stream.
